Founder & Initiator

Charles is the Founder and Initiator of the Meet Africa Fashion Festival (MAFEST). He has been in the Beauty Pageant Industry for decades and has been innovative in the industry.

Media & Communication Career

A Communication and Media expert for almost three decades, he has worked with NTA Abuja, Daily Times Nigeria, Vanguard Newspapers, Niger Delta Standard Newspapers, Leadership Newspapers and Folio Communications. He is Chairman of Mena Communications Ltd and was the Editor and later Managing Director of Niger Standard Newspapers, Port Harcourt, before joining Leadership Newspapers Abuja as Executive Director of Business Development.

Education & Expertise

An alumnus of the University of Abuja, Ozoemena is a Political Science scholar per excellence, a Resource Fellow, Event Planner (Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops), Reputation Manager, and Publisher. He consults for Caritas Communications Ltd Lagos and has interfaced on stakeholder management, public policy, and media monitoring for MasterCard, Total E&P Nigeria Limited, ExxonMobil, Topaz Marine, Team Offshore, Tetra Pak, Sustainable Fuel Belgium, and Standard Chartered Bank.

Pageantry Innovations

A pioneer entertainment personality in Abuja, he was Pageant Manager for Miss Abuja Beauty Pageant from 1993 to 1998 before founding the Face of Abuja Beauty Pageant in 2000. He was the first in Nigeria to ban contestants from wearing foreign-made evening gowns and instead promoted Nigerian designers. He also introduced the first-ever cooking competition and scholarship grant into pageantry in 2000.
